Classical Delights

Sharing the ensemble’s love for uncovering lost musical treasures of the past with skill, sensitivity and creative flair, The Muses’ Delight is joined by Donald Nicolson on fortepiano in a selection of exquisite Classical gems.

Discover the fascinating musical colours and styles that flourished throughout Europe during the tumultuous revolutionary era. The program begins in Vienna in a celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, then explores François Devienne’s revolutionary Paris, the expressiveness of C.P.E. Bach’s Hamburg and finally fashionable London with music by Ferdinand Ries.
